Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows has ruled that former President Donald Trump cannot appear on the state’s 2024 primary ballot, citing the 14th Amendment’s provision barring those engaged in insurrection.

This decision follows a similar ruling in Colorado and may lead to a U.S. Supreme Court review. Trump’s campaign plans to appeal, accusing Democrats of election interference.

The challenges focus on state primaries, with Maine’s decision affecting Colorado, and over a dozen other states have primaries on March 5. Trump’s eligibility could be determined before the general election if not resolved by July’s national convention. 🗳️❌
