Not many people know about her or her restaurant.
The restaurant is only known among Hilda’s friends, but today, the restaurant has gone without spending one kobo on advertising.
I can only imagine the kind of traffic that will be queuing up to eat at the restaurant after today.
Her chef skills will be in demand as more high-net-worth people call her to come and prepare meals for them.
She can also open a catering school in order to train more young people who want to cook like she does.
The numbers on her Instagram page, which includes her chef business, her restaurant page, and her personal page, have gone up by over 10,000% in the last 48 hours.
I know that her restaurant will leverage this to scale by opening more locations across Lagos and even expanding beyond Lagos.
But beyond this, food brands like Tiger Foods Limited should be having an internal conversation on how to tap into her newfound fame by partnering with her and then scaling with it.
If I were a strategist managing a food brand like Nestle or Unilever, I should be in a meeting with my client by now, discussing how we can leverage her newfound fan base to launch new products or even sign her as a celebrity ambassador.
She is now a full-time celebrity who will be in demand by food brands after this.
I hope she uses this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity well by recruiting a good brand management company, which will help her grow her brand, build social capital,scale her restaurant business, and open a catering school, which in turn will increase her monthly sales and earnings.
There are so many business lessons to be learned from the tenacity of purpose, resilience, and courage of our modern-day Idan.
